Who we are
Our consultants all have backgrounds in performance psychology and elite sport. We pride ourselves in helping people to deliver higher levels of performance. At present we are working across a number of different environments which currently include sport, education and health.
Our ongoing consultancy work in sport includes working with the England Cricket Team and the English Insitute of Sport for which Dr Mark Bawden is the National Lead Sport Psychologist. In addition, we are helping the Great Britain short track speed skating squad prepare for the Vancouver Olympics in 2010. Our work also stretches into the world of golf as a number of Europe's top golfers use our services.
What we do
At Metaphorics we want to change the way people think about their work. We want to provide training that is inspirational, motivational and meaningful to enhance performance and make a real difference to people's lives.
We deliver courses, workshops, insets, inspirational presentations, conference presentations and coaching within sport, education, health and business. Our experience of working in high performance sport uniquely positions us to deliver motivational solutions to performance issues in high pressure environments. The Metaphorics performance enhancement programmes are aimed at anyone who wants to look at how they can do things differently with the ultimate aim of improving performance.
How we do it
Our approach uses a combination of the sporting metaphor, the principles of positive psychology, focusing on developing personal strengths, and raising self awareness. We believe that this approach creates more mentally tough performers who demonstrate greater motivation, focus, performance under pressure and resilience. At Metaphorics, our fundamental belief is that there is untapped potential in all of us and through our coaching and training we can help people to realise this potential.
Using a strengths based approach we believe that individuals are able to develop greater capacity for performance enhancement than focusing in primarily on areas of weakness. We all have the ability to be world class, it is about finding out where you can be world class and then harnassing that quality and making it work for you rather than against you.
